Hold Fast to God’s Truth
“Stand firm in the faith.” — 1 Corinthians 16:13
A Christian man needs firm convictions. Culture changes, emotions fluctuate, and circumstances create pressure. God’s Word remains true through every season.
Standing firm means holding tightly to biblical truth. It requires knowing what Scripture teaches and refusing to abandon it when obedience becomes costly. This firmness does not come from stubbornness. It comes from confidence in God and submission to His Word.
A man cannot stand firmly upon truth he barely knows. Therefore, he must read Scripture, learn sound doctrine, and participate faithfully in a local church. God commonly strengthens His people through preaching, prayer, fellowship, and the ordinances.
Standing firm also requires humility. A faithful man distinguishes biblical convictions from personal preferences. He receives correction when Scripture proves him wrong. Yet he will not surrender truth merely to avoid tension or gain approval.
Our strength ultimately rests in Christ. He preserves His people and completes the work He began in them.
